How to Find a Local Florist – Part 2

The Superpages:

When searching for a local florist in the Superpages there are a few pitfalls to avoid.  When you do your search for a local florist on this site you can actually find a brick and mortar flower shop.  One thing to notice in the search results is the vast amount of sponsored links that are quite undesirable.

There are several sponsored results that are mainly wire services that you will want to skip over.

This search was performed for Las Vegas florists.  There are no less than 18 sponsored results before you get to the actual organic listings.  As far as I could tell, only one of the sponsored listings wasn’t a wire service!

The next thing you will find are the very pretty looking category sponsors on the right hand side of the page.  These ads are all wire services.

Don’t be fooled by the pretty colors!  The less flash and color in the ad, the more likely that you are going to be contacting a real independently owned local florist!

You will see from the map that shows up on the right hand side of the page at the top that there are actual local businesses with addresses and everything.

The numbers you see relate to the numbered listing at the bottom of the page below the sponsored links.  If you click next at the bottom of the page and advance to the second page of results, many more results come up because the amount of sponsored links are reduced.

With any luck, you can ignore the sponsored links and advertisements and find a local florist.
